Rodríguez: “The Government of Spain has fully financed the repair of the bridge for a value of 1.9 million euros”
The City of Torrent has received 114,490,134 euros from the Government of Spain for the repair, restitution or reconstruction of infrastructure, equipment or facilities and services of municipal ownership affected by the dana

The deputy delegate of the Government in Valencia and delegate of the Government in office, José Rodríguez, has assured in Torrent that “the full financing of the repair of the bridge linking Torrent and Alaquàs by the Government of Spain is a clear symbol of its unequivocal support for the reconstruction and recovery of all municipalities affected by the dana”.
This has been affirmed by Rodríguez in the act of opening the bridge that connects Torrent with Alaquàs, affected by the dana, whose repair has been carried out with the aid, which the Ministry of Territorial Policy has destined to pay 100% of the repair, restitution or reconstruction of infrastructure, equipment or facilities and services of municipal ownership affected by the dana.
The City Council of Torrent has counted on an investment of 1,917,946 euros from the Government of Spain for the reinforcement of stirrups and stacks, the installation of protective skirts, the placement of a new board and the restitution of defenses, handrails and lighting of the historic bridge of Gómez Ferrer Street, which connects Torrent with the municipality of Alaquàs. The bridge, which saves the ravine of the Poyo, resisted the flood, but the strong flow swept away part of its board and damaged structural and finishing elements.
Of the investment of 1.7 billion euros that the Ministry of Territorial Policy has allocated to local entities, the City of Torrent has received 114,490,134 euros which, the delegate of the acting Government has clarified, “will cost 100% of the rehabilitation of its infrastructures.”
In total, Rodríguez recalled, “the investment of the Government of Spain in Torrent after the dana is close to 170 million euros”.
