Rodríguez: “The Ministry of Agriculture has already paid more than 400 million euros to farmers affected by the dana”

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food added to its aid lines, last Friday, one intended for damage to nurseries for which it has already allocated 15 million euros

Acting Government Delegate: “The figure of 400 million euros will be increased in the coming months with compensation to those farmers who will not be able to grow again in the areas close to rivers that, after the dana, have been incorporated into the Hydraulic Public Domain”

The deputy delegate of the Government in Valencia and delegate of the Government in office, José Rodríguez, highlights “the commitment of the Government of Spain to the farmers affected by the dana, through the multiple lines of aid created by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, which has already paid more than 400 million euros and continues to assess needs”.

In fact, last Thursday, August 14, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food published in the electronic headquarters of the Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Fund (FEGA) two lists with new beneficiaries of aid to compensate damages caused by the damage of a total amount of 15.1 million euros, in two lines of support aimed at compensating damages not covered by agricultural insurance and the repair of nurseries.

“The Government of Spain continues to work on the recovery of the affected areas and the livelihoods of much of the Valencian and Valencian communities. In fact, the figure of 400 million euros will be increased in the coming months with compensation to those farmers who will not be able to recultivate in the areas close to rivers that, after the dana, have been incorporated into the Hydraulic Public Domain”, stressed the delegate of the acting Government.

  • Aid to compensate for loss of income on agricultural holdings: 77.251.323 euros.
  • Aid to farms for damage to agricultural infrastructures: 43 million euros, which will soon be paid to those who decide to face the repair themselves.
  • Aid to replenish agricultural machinery affected: 2,063,815 euros
  • Aid to facilitate the financing of the affected farms: called for by 53.1 million euros from the ICO-MAP-SAECA line, specific for farmers and livestock farmers affected by the drought.
  • Indemnities paid by Agroseguro to insured farms: 51.5 million euros.
  • Aid to compensate the franchise of farms with agricultural insurance: 12.8 million euros, the payment of which will be made soon.
  • Repair of agricultural infrastructures and farms:
    • Rural roads: Work started for the amount of 75 million euros.
    • Communities of irrigators: 106 projects started for more than 80 million euros. Of these, 18 actions already completed in the amount of 3 million euros.
    • Agricultural plots: 1,388 plots repaired.
    • Nurseries: Reconstruction of 43 nurseries worth 15 million euros.
