The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has visited together with the mayor, Josep Almenar, the reconstruction work of the María Cambrils runway in Picanya carried out by the Government of Spain, through the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, within the emergency actions in infrastructures of municipal ownership after the October dana. Picanya has received from the Government of Spain about 90 million euros of which more than 71 million euros are for the repair of municipal infrastructures.
In the visit to the works, the delegate pointed out that the Government of Spain through the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has allocated 6.3 million euros to the reconstruction of the three runways collapsed by the dana in Picanya and Paiporta. In the case of Picanya, the catwalks affected were that of Poeta Ángel González and that of María Cambrils to which more than 2 million euros and about 1.9 million euros have been allocated, respectively. In Paiporta, the walkway of the street of the Convent collapsed which has counted an investment for its repair of about €1.7M.
The new walkways will be constituted by a continuous metal drawer, embedded on two concrete pillars on the channel that will provide robustness to the structures against possible avenues.
The performance visited today “goes at a good pace” said the delegate who added that “the engineering that is currently being implemented in the Valencian territory has a vision of greater sustainability, greater resilience and to be better, more adapted and more prepared for the future”.
