The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has visited together with the mayor of Aldaia, Guillermo Luján, and the provincial director of the INSS, Susana Lejarreta, the new facilities of the Social Security Care and Information Center (CAISS) that was reopened to the public, once the repairs were completed, on March 31. The CAISS in Aldaia was severely affected by the damage, which caused the facilities to be closed and the service to be provided in other nearby offices.
According to the delegate, along with the CAISS of Aldaia, the Social Security facilities of Torrent and Catarroja were also affected. It is the recovery, an investment of more than 300,000 euros has been carried out. At the moment, the offices of Aldaia and Torrent are already in operation. In Catarroja “a work has to be done to improve the facilities, although while the actions are carried out and thanks to an agreement with the city council, the population is served in the municipality itself”.
Actions in the Aldaia office
The place, with an area of more than 500 square meters, was, according to Barnabas, “seriously damaged” by the dana. The actions have been developed in two phases, once the unaffected furniture has been recovered, in which the sludge has been removed, the disassembly of all the technical floor, the vinyl floor and the insulation has been carried out. The electrical installation has also been repaired and subsequently, the installation of insulation, technical floor and vinyl floor, and the repair and painting of the pladur walls have been carried out.
The CAISS of Aldaia on which a potential population of 130,000 depends, serves mainly Aldaia, Alaquàs, Cheste, Loriguilla, Quart de Poblet and Xirivella. During 2024, the total number of citizens served was 27,521.
Bernabé has indicated that the investment of the Government of Spain in Aldaia exceeds € 46M, of which about € 39M is intended to cover 100% of the repair of municipal infrastructures. Likewise, the Ministry of Transport has assumed the repair of four infrastructures of Aldaia, such as the walkway and the lower tracks of the railway. The delegate has highlighted “the commitment of the Government for the reconstruction of Aldaia and all the municipalities of the province of Valencia affected by the dana”, a reconstruction that will be “better than what was before and more sustainable”. “The recovery is already underway with the Spanish Government fully committed to recovering all services,” he concluded.
