The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has attended the delivery of the Premis Dones Progressistes in its 32nd edition, where she has delivered the award to the documentalist Marina Calatayud.
About her, Barnabas said that she “learned to look women in the eye, becoming fully aware of the feminist struggle and opened a path where there were only decades of structural inequality”, highlighting her important role as head of the coordination unit against Gender Violence in the Government Delegation.
In addition to Calatayud, the Federació Dones Progressistes de la Comunitat Valenciana has awarded, in this edition, the Association of Progressive Women of Foios, the Federation of Young Women and the sociologist, writer and feminist theorist Rosa Cobo.
This federation, which has been claiming equality for more than thirty years, is, in the words of the government delegate, “an example and militancy in the historic struggle for women’s rights.”
