The Delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has met today with the Association of Residents of Castellar to discuss different issues related to the investment of the Government of Spain. In addition, he has visited different shops in this town.
The delegate has informed them that the Government of Spain will allocate to the reconstruction and improvement of the municipal infrastructures of this hamlet of València, affected by the dana 39.1 million euros “to achieve an improved normality”. “The reconstruction has begun and has materialized in a clear commitment of the Government of Spain that all municipal buildings affected by the dana are going to be replenished one hundred percent by the State,” he said.
The order for the granting of aid from the Government of Spain to repair, restore or rebuild the municipal infrastructures of the affected municipalities of the province of Valencia, amounts to 1,721 million euros that will be granted to the different municipalities before March 19, according to Bernabé. In total, 137 million euros will go to the districts of the city of Valencia.
In the case of Castellar, the investments will go to sewerage, purification and water supplies and agricultural roads. Also to the recovery of the municipal swimming pool and elementary sports facilities, to the Rosa Llácer Special Education Center, urban roads, the town hall and public lighting.
Bernabé stressed that the Government of Spain “is doing everything possible to, as soon as possible, rebuild the infrastructure and deploy the social shield that helps repair the social and economic fabric of Castellar and València”. “We are aware – he added – that every effort and every step taken is not enough, because the magnitude of this emergency is very extensive. The government does not shy away from the immense task that lies ahead and will be listening to the entire citizenry.” At the same time, he said, “it is important that collaboration between administrations results in the acceleration of aid”.
