The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has inaugurated today the XXX Sample of the Artisan Sausage and Quality of Requena, accompanied by the mayor, Mario Sánchez. A fair of which Barnabas has highlighted its “quality and importance” and which demonstrates, as he has said, “the resilience of the sector in the face of dramatic situations such as the dana”. In fact, he stressed that the opening of this contest “is a symptom of progress in recovery.”
In this line the delegate has reviewed “the more than 35 million euros that the Government of Spain will contribute to the consistory requenense to rebuild all damaged municipal infrastructures”.
In addition, he added, the government “is aware that agricultural and livestock farms have been greatly affected by the dana in Requena”. In fact, 25 km of rural roads will have to be repaired, as well as about 40,000 hectares of cultivation.
The Spanish Government “is here to work, support, rebuild and recover the field devastated by water. So that not a single agricultural and livestock production is lost.”
In this regard, he recalled that the Ministry of Agriculture has allocated 7 million euros in aid to repair agricultural infrastructures, “aware of the structuring importance that this sector has in the economy of the region, the province and the Comunitat”. And all this, he concluded, to achieve a repair “that has been designed to better resist future extreme weather episodes that may come as a result of climate change that is already a fact.”
