The government delegate in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has presided over the premiere of the composition Mamlaka Balansiya, musical pieces composed by the masters Hugo Chinesta, Ferrer Ferran, Azael Tormo and José Alvero Frances, which has been performed by the Musical Group of Beneixida.
The concert organized by the Moros Cultural Association of Balansiya, which holds the Mora Captaincy of 2024, has been heard in the cloister of the Temple Palace built on the Tower of Ali Bufat and the same day in which the capitulations of València were signed in 1238.
The delegate of the Government who presided over this event stressed that “opening the doors of this cloister to the Moros de Balansiya comparsa, and to these international ambassadors of our musical culture, is also opening it to extol our history, our culture as a people. Opening the doors to music, history and culture is a logical obligation of any administration, whether local, regional or national.”
Barnabas added that the intention of the captaincy Mora 2024 has been “to pay homage to the thirteen Moorish kings of Balansiya” while adding “the claim of music as a differential fact of the Moors and Christians festival”.
