The government delegate, Pilar Bernabé, has visited the works of the new lower pass for pedestrians and cyclists of the so-called Glorieta de los Bomberos de San Vicent del Raspeig, on the A-77a. This new infrastructure highlights “the commitment of the Government of Spain to the University of Alicante and to the safety of its students”, said the delegate.
The performance, visited together with the rector of the University of Alicante, Amparo Navarro, and the mayor of San Vicent del Raspeig, Jose Rafael Pascual, has had an investment of more than 300,000€ of the Gobienro de España. These are “works that have been carried out during the non-school period to avoid greater affectation to the users and that respond to a historical demand to pacify the passage of pedestrians”, said Bernabé
This new “comfortable and accessible” infrastructure allows for better mobility, since the bike lane on the right side of the A-77a is connected with access to the train station of Cerca and the Scientific Park.
In addition, the delegde added, “it is highly illuminated to avoid fear among users and ensure their safety.”
The delegate pointed out that the Government of Spain “bets and supports the University of Alicante at all levels and will continue to work to improve accessibility to the university campus”.
