The DGT expects more than half a million trips on the roads of the C.Valenciana during the special operation Return of the summer

These displacements could be increased by the return phase of Operation Strait Pass that mainly affects the circulation on the A-7 and AP-7

Special traffic management measures will be established in Alicante, Castellón and Valencia

Pilar Bernabé calls for prudence and stresses the need to respect the rules of circulation

In the summer period, there have been more than 13 million trips in the C.Valenciana, which means an increase in mobility of 7.56%, a percentage that almost doubles the state average

The special operation Return of the summer 2024 takes place in the Valencian Community from 15:00 hours on this Friday, August 30, until 24:00 hours on Sunday, September 1. Therefore, special traffic regulation and management measures will be established these days that will affect Alicante, Castellón and Valencia.

The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has pointed out that in this special operation, a total of 4.7 million long-distance displacements are expected at the national level, of which about 11% - 514,080 displacements - correspond to the territorial scope of the Valencian Community.

In addition to these return movements due to the end of the holidays, there will be a significant influx of vehicles that will continue to be produced on the main axes and border crossings through the return phase of Operation Strait Pass. The last phase of the OPE (13 July to 15 September) further increases the number of long-distance movements in the Mediterranean Corridor (A-7 and AP-7).

Pilar Bernabé has called for the prudence of all drivers. According to the delegate, “it is necessary to respect the established speed, maintain safety distances, turn off the mobile and wear the safety belt or child restraint system well in the case of minors”. He has also considered it “fundamental” to rest every two hours in the case of long journeys.

The delegate has indicated that in the course of Operation Summer a total of 13,026,798 long-distance trips have been recorded within the Valencian Community, which means an increase in mobility of 7.56% compared to last year. This percentage, said the delegate, “exceeds the national average, since throughout the Spanish territory there has been an increase in mobility in the summer period of 4.03%”.
