The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, presented this morning together with the General Head of the Sixth Zone of the Civil Guard in the Valencian Community, Arturo Prieto Bozec, the security device for the tenth edition of the Medusa Sunbeach Festival 2024 of Cullera, which expects a daily participation of more than 50,000 people. A device that, Barnabas explained, “represents an unprecedented mobilization of the Civil Guard and that will have an operation of around 1,000 troops”.
In addition, the delegate added that “reinforcement units have come from other provinces, such as the GRS unit in Barcelona and others in Madrid, to complement this operation, which will undoubtedly be one of the most important ones we will have during this summer in the weekend festivals of the Valencian Community”.
And he stressed that “the Government is committed to having more Civil Guard and National Police officers, not only now, when the staffing levels are at levels we have never had before; but also a large call has been launched where there will be an offer of more than 3,000 public employment places for Civil Guard and National Police. Because the Government of Spain believes in public security and this is evidenced by the operation of the Civil Guard that is presented today.”
Likewise, Bernabé has also highlighted within the operation of the Medusa the part related to the traffic device, where the alcohol and drug controls of the Civil Guard “will be in all the accesses, both at the entrances and at all the exits of the festival, at night and in the morning. The goal is zero tolerance in the consumption of alcohol and drugs. But above all, I ask for prudence from all the people who come to enjoy this festival.”
