The municipalities of the Valencian Community receive more than 5 million euros for actions against gender violence

The transfer is intended to develop current spending actions between 1 July 2024 and 30 June 2025.

In total, Spanish municipalities receive 40 million euros from the budget earmarked for the State Pact against Gender Violence

The municipalities of the Valencian Community receive 5,364,988.18 euros of the transfers that the Secretary of State for Equality and for the Eradication of Violence against Women issues for the development of the competences reserved to local entities in the State Pact against Gender Violence for the financial year 2024-2025.

The delegate of the Government, Pilar Bernabé, calls for “the coordination of all public administrations in the fight against male terrorism and the use of all the resources that the Government of Spain makes available to municipalities for the development of their competences”. In addition, he stressed that “ending violence against women is a matter for everyone.”

These transfers are made through the budgetary application of Current Transfers for the development of new or expanded competences reserved for local entities in the State Pact against Gender Violence. In total, Spanish municipalities receive 40 million euros to carry out current spending actions between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025.

Therefore, Pilar Bernabé recalls “the importance of municipalities using the money received in full and within the stipulated time, in actions aimed at the promotion of equality between men and women or against gender violence”.
