The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, pointed out in her visit to the International Tourism Fair (Fitur), that “it has been the Government of Spain that has invested the most in the Valencian Community in the plans of sustainability and intelligent tourism”. In the last two years, according to Bernabé, the Government has allocated more than €190M to these policies developed in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. “Sustainable and intelligent tourism,” said the delegate, “are the bets of the future.” Therefore, “it is no accident that the Government of Spain has located the headquarters of the Intelligent Platform of Tourist Destinations in Benidorm”.
Bernabé who today participates in the celebration of the Day of the Valencian Community in Fitur has pointed out that “this community is a reference for turnism at national level”. The Central Executive “will continue to bet on this sector. Thus in 2024, the objective is that the contribution of tourism to the GDP of the Comunitat will exceed 16%”, he added.
Also, Barnabas pointed out, “this Government’s effort in the field of infrastructure is incomparable.” In this line, he stressed that “the Mediterranean Corridor is a reality with 87% of the works already in progress”. In terms of infrastructure, “it has also been the Government of Spain that has invested the most and has opted for the Valencian Community”, as has been shown, in addition to investments in the Mediterranean Corridor, in the northern extension of the Port of Valencia or the future sustainability project of the Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández airport or that of Valencia, among other actions.
