The raising of the flag next Saturday, January 13, will be the beginning of numerous commemorative events “to value the National Police Force and the work and professionalism of more than 7,000 agents in the Valencian territory”, said Bernabé
The Fallas in Valencia, the Holy Week in Alicante and the festivities of Moors and Christians in different locations will also have the special presence of the National Police Corps
The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, presented this morning, together with the Superior Head of National Police of the Valencian Community, D. Jorge Marti and the Regional Head of Operations, D. José Luis Garau, the calendar of events commemorating the bicentenary of the National Police, “a body that has served and guaranteed security to the citizens of our country, uninterrupted for 200 years,” said the delegate.
The bicentenary of the creation of the National Police Force will be commemorated next Saturday, January 13, with a flag hoisting in the square that links the Paseo de la Alameda with the Avenue of France, in an act that aims “to put in value the National Police Force and the work and professionalism of more than 7,000 agents in the Valencian territory,” said Bernabé.
The main institutions of the Valencian Community will pay tribute to the National Police through the illuminated blue and institutional buildings “as a symbol of recognition and respect and in an act of recognition and appreciation and pride of all members of the National Police Force”, said Pilar Bernabé, who has reiterated her gratitude to the disposition of the rest of the institutions.
This 2024 will be full of commemorations in the Valencian Community and events will be organized in various areas, as the delegate of the Government has listed. On the same Saturday, January 13, agents of the National Police will carry out the honour kick in the matches of the Levante and the Eldense. Also in January, on the 21st the race of 091 will be held in Castellón; and on the 30th, a tribute will be held to the retired police.
On February 18, a concert at the Palau de la música de València will serve as a tribute to the National Police; and on February 27, the medals and recognitions of the Order of the Guardian Angels will be presented. In addition, on February 28, the National Police Square will be inaugurated and Bernabé assures that he is “working with different municipalities, to make a similar recognition in cities such as Castellón, Elche, Orihuela or Denia”
The Fallas in Valencia, the Holy Week in Alicante and the festivities of Moors and Christians in different locations will also have the special presence of the National Police Force.
Bernabé added that, although “today we tell you the first semester, the events will continue and 2024 will also be the year in which the works of the Zapadores barracks will be underway, whose completion is scheduled for 2025 and which is the most important investment in infrastructure of the Ministry of the Interior and which will be the most modern barracks in Spain.” In this line, the Government delegate wanted to add that “the National Police is one of the most modern security bodies and has best adapted to the new times” and wanted to “recognize that capacity for adaptation and resilience, to advance with the times and become an international level of pride”.
