The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has presented at the Road Conservation Center of Castalla, the winter road plan 2023-2024. This plan has 62 snow removal machines and 6,785 tons of fluxes (sodium chloride and calcium chloride) in solid form or in brine - dissolved in water.
The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda through the Road Demarcation launched this campaign on November 1 in the State Road Network and will be operational until April 30, 2023.
The delegate said that the plan “guarantees the maintenance of the road, service levels and road safety in the State Road Network that reaches 1,914 kilometers in the Valencian Community”. Of these, 57% are composed of high-capacity roads, 43% are conventional roads and 28% are at more than 400 meters of altitude with peaks above 1,000 meters.
Bernabé stressed that “the plan prioritizes attention to highways, highways and roads with greater density, roads to access the provincial capitals and roads to populations with more than 20,000 inhabitants”
The main actions carried out thanks to the road plan are the prevention of the formation of ice sheets on the roads through the spread of foundations; informing road users of any incident sufficiently in advance and the removal of snow, minimizing incidents in traffic.
