The Delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, attends the inauguration, in the hall of the Culture Centre of Benifaió, of the exhibition ‘Image and word to create awareness’, which contains a compilation of prevention and awareness campaigns against gender violence, which has been prepared by the Government Delegation since 2006.
Bernabé has assured that “to fight against gender violence, the first thing is to call it by its name” and that actions such as this are necessary in the face of “the denial by the right of gender violence”, which he has described as “very serious and worrying”.
The delegate stressed that the fight against gender violence “must be a matter of the first political order for the administrations and the Government of Spain will work and leave its skin to fight it.” The only way to combat it, she said, “is to fight it from all the administrations.”
This exhibition will be held in different municipalities and aims, in the words of Pilar Bernabé, “to prevent, sensitize and raise as many people as possible about this cruel reality and involve it in the eradication of it”. It is composed of 16 roll ups, which contain at least one campaign and the description of its content and show the evolution of awareness around gender violence and its different approaches.
The Government of Spain, said the delegate to the Valencian Community, “is tackling all violence against women with an historic budget for the Ministry of Equality in 2023, which allocates more than half to policies against male violence and with the approval of the State Strategy to combat male violence”, among other policies.
