· Special traffic management measures will be established in Alicante, Castellón and Valencia with a broad police operation similar to that of previous actions
· Pilar Bernabé insists on following the recommendations at the wheel to minimize the risks on the trips
· In what we carry of Operation Summer 2023, there have been 14 deaths on the roads of the C.Valenciana
· These trips could be increased by Operation Strait Pass, which mainly affects the circulation on the A-7 and AP-7
The Special Operation 15 of August 2023 begins in the Valencian Community from 15:00 hours on this Friday, August 11 and ends at 24:00 hours on Tuesday, August 15. In it, about 1.9 million trips have been planned.
The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has asked for maximum caution at the wheel and follow all the recommendations to minimize the risks in this Special Operation in which, at the national level, 8.5 million trips are expected, of which 22% -1,881,000- will be registered in the Valencian Community.
During the next few days, special traffic regulation and management measures will be established that will affect the territorial scope of Alicante, Castellón and Valencia. The device will be made up of Agents of the Traffic Grouping of the Civil Guard, official staff of the Traffic Management Center, Helicopter Patrol and personnel responsible for the maintenance of equipment and the installation of measures on the road. In addition, there will be the collaboration of the different Local Police for access to the large towns and crossings where they have authority and exercise surveillance.
Citizens can consult information about this on the DGT website, as well as on phone 011, in addition to knowing the most favorable itineraries through corporate social networks.
For the two summer months, the DGT has forecast 95 million long-distance journeys in Spain, of which 21,850,000 will take place within the scope of the Traffic Management Centre of the Valencian Community.
On the other hand, the return and departure due to the end and beginning of the holidays are also joined by a significant influx of vehicles on the main axes and border crossings, due to the return to European countries of habitual residence or departure in the direction of the country of origin. It is a large movement of people by road that falls within the framework of Operation Special Strait Pass (OPE).
The start and end dates of OPE 2023 are, for the exit phase from June 15 to August 15, and for the return phase from July 15 to September 15, so both phases would affect this Special Operation August 15, further increasing the number of long-distance movements in the Mediterranean Corridor (A-7 and AP-7).
