· These displacements could be increased by Operation Strait Pass, which mainly affects the circulation on the A-7 and AP-7
· Special traffic management measures will be established in Alicante, Castellón and Valencia with an operation of more than 800 Civil Guard and DGT personnel
· Pilar Bernabé calls for prudence and stresses the need to respect traffic rules
· In what we carry of Operation Summer 2023, there have been 12 deaths on the roads of the C.Valenciana
The Special Operation 1 of August 2023 takes place in the Valencian Community from 15:00 hours on this Friday, July 28, until 24:00 hours on Tuesday, August 1. Therefore, special traffic regulation and management measures will be established these days that will affect the territorial scope of Alicante, Castellón and Valencia with a device of more than 800 Civil Guard personnel and DGT personnel.
The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, who has visited the Traffic Management Center, has pointed out that in this Special Operation a total of 8.7 million long-distance journeys are expected, of which 25% -2.195.000- correspond to the area of the Valencian Community.
To these movements of return and departure, by end and beginning of holidays, will be joined a significant influx of vehicles that will continue to occur on the main axes and border crossings by the return to European countries of habitual residence or departure in the direction of country of origin. At the moment, the Special Strait Crossing Operation, which is a large movement of people by road in Europe, is in operation. The start and end dates of OPE 2023 are, for the Exit phase: from June 15 to August 15, and for the Return phase: from July 15 to September 15, so both phases would affect this Special Operation August 1, further increasing the number of long-distance movements in the Mediterranean Corridor (A-7 and AP-7).
In fact, Pilar Bernabé has called for the prudence of all drivers. The delegate has indicated that “it is necessary to respect the speed established on each track, maintain safety distances, turn off the mobile and wear the safety belt or child restraint system in the case of minors”. He has also considered it “fundamental” to rest every two hours in the case of long journeys.
For the two summer months, the DGT has forecast 95 million long-distance journeys throughout the national eremu, of which 21,850,000 will take place within the scope of the Traffic Management Center of the Valencian Community.
