Close to thousand daily troops will ensure the safety of the holidays Moors and Christians of Alcoi, in an “unprecedented” device, in which the “collaboration and coordination” of the different security forces stands out” to guarantee “safe parties”, according to the delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé.
Bernabé has presided over the local security board held in Alcoi on the occasion of the celebration of its patron saint’s parties. This meeting was attended by, among others, the mayor of the city, Toni Frances, and the deputy delegate of the Government in Alicante, Araceli Poblador, together with representatives of the different security forces involved to coordinate the different devices with which to guarantee the security of "the thousands of people" participating in the celebrations.
La National Police It will deploy a device close to the 200 agents distributed in different areas of the city in order to prevent itinerant crime groups and criminal actions in empty homes and industrial estates. Likewise, “special attention” will be paid to the main events of these festivities in what is expected “a great influx of attendees”, according to the delegate.
For its part, the Civil Guard will allocate more than a hundred troops, which will strengthen citizen security in the border demarcations of the municipal term of Alcoi, monitor the ways of access to the locality and establish different alcohol and drug consumption control points.
The State forces will be reinforced with agents of Civil Protection, National Seconded Police, Local Police, Firefighters, staff of Red Cross, health areas and personnel of party associations.
The delegate of the Government has highlighted the effort that will be made by the State Security Forces and the rest of the troops involved that “one more year they will focus on achieve a safe holiday for all the citizens who want to participate.”
