The Government delegate has held a meeting with representatives of the Fallas and musical societies
The purpose of this meeting is to favor the casales and the music bands that, if they so wish, become Safe Points throughout the year
The Delegation transfers the tools developed by the Government to fight and prevent gender violence through a guide
The Government delegate in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has chaired a working table with representatives of the falleras associations and the musical societies together with the Coordination Unit against Violence on Women of the Government Delegation and Forces and Security Corps of the State.
The purpose of this meeting, as the delegate said, is “impulsar the Safe Points in the homemade faleros and music bands to fight and prevent the male violence, not only in Fallas but throughout the year”. The Safe Points were promoted by the Ministry of Equality to disseminate the tools of first attention that have been put in place by the Government of Spain to fight sexual and gender violence.
At this meeting, the Government Delegation and the State Security Forces and Corps have reported on the various resources available to women victims and their environment. To this is added the Service 016 of legal information and psychological care or the resources of support and prevention of the different municipalities and the Violeta Points set up by the Municipalities with funds of the State Pact Against Gender Violence of the Government of Spain.
Also noteworthy are the different specialized units of the FCSE such as: the Office of Complaints of Attention to Women and Children (ODAM), in the Commissariat of Abastos and with attention 24 hours a day every day of the year; the Family and Women Care Units (UFAM), of the National Police, specialized in the fight against gender violence, domestic violence and sexual violence; the Women-Minors Teams (EMUME) or the VioGén teams of the Civil Guard that fight against gender violence. In addition to the FCSE’s VioGén system for monitoring cases of gender-based violence
Pilar Bernabé has encouraged the whole society "to bring, through the closest environment, the comprehensive care services to those who may need them". To this end, the Delegation has transferred to the Fallas and music bands a guide with resources to act against possible cases of violence against women where the different types of male violence (physical, sexual, economic, psychological, digital or vicarious) are explained and what to do in the event that it is detected.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Junta Central Fallera, the Federación de Fallas de Especial, the Federación de Fallas de Primera A, the Federación de Fallas de Ingenio y Gracia, the local Boards of different populations and the Coordinator of Societats Musicals Federades de la Ciutat de València (COSOMUVAL).
