The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, held today a meeting with the mayor of Oropesa, Araceli Moya, to analyze the project to improve the layout of the N-340 as it passes through the town.
The works approved by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda on February 1 will mean “a significant improvement” in functionality and road safety. According to Bernabé, the new route “will reverse road safety, improve accessibility and ease traffic in Oropesa, especially in the summer months”.
The project includes a refurbishment of the route, the rearrangement of the accesses and actions on the links of the Renegá, the semi-link of Oropesa and the link with the AP-7, which will mean a significant improvement of the functionality of the N[1]340 road as it passes through the locality.
The delegate who has also visited the coastal regeneration activities carried out in the municipality, has highlighted the commitment of the Government to the coast of the Valencian Community. In this sense, he has highlighted the 1.200M€ that the Executive presiding over Pedro Sánchez has destined for the regeneration of the beaches of the Valencian Community.
According to the delegate, this is “one of the biggest investments in history” in regenerating the beaches of the Valencian Community”. Within this game, there is the sand replenishment work that is carried out in Oropesa in an “urgent and emergency action”. The delegate also pointed out that “work will also be done in a joint and coordinated way with the City Council to see the possibilities of carrying out a project that goes beyond regeneration”. Bernabé indicated that “the Delegation values very positively the will of the Consistory to offer its initiatives, but the Ministry must analyze them, study them in depth, and carry out homogeneous projects for the Valencian coast”. Therefore, he concluded, “coordination, willingness to agree and to work together”.
