Between 2022 and 2023, more than €4000M of these funds have been mobilized in the C.Valenciana
The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, who visited today la Vila Joiosa, highlighted that “the Government of Spain supports the model of tourism sustainability of the city”.
The delegate who has been accompanied in this visit by the mayor of the municipality, Andreu Verdú, and the subdelegate of the Government in Alicante, Araceli Poblador, has indicated that the bet for the “diversification of the offer and sustainable tourism management” proposed by the Government team of the Vila Joiosa has favored a aid by the Government of Spain of 2.4 million euros of the Tourist Sustainability Plan in Destination. This project includes measures of improvement of the environment of the beaches (measurement of water quality, improvement of access, signage, monitoring of sand loss), of control of influx on beaches by means of measurement systems, as well as new parking spaces deterrents. Also included are actions related to the improvement of the lighting of the main tourist attractions.
In total, as Bernabé recalled, the Vila Joiosa has received 3.1 million euros from Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Government of Spain. Apart from the subsidy of the Destination Tourism Sustainability Plan, also the third and fourth phase of the rehabilitation of the Imperial Baths have the support of the Government of Spain in “a clear commitment to the restoration of the historical heritage”.
Bernabé stressed that the Next Generation Funds, which finance the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and the OBJECTIVE-EU, have mobilized more than 4,000 million euros in the Valencian Community. “This is a reality that is already in our cities with a clear and forceful impact,” said the delegate.
