The Council of Ministers authorized this Tuesday, at the proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, to allocate 39,065 euros to Ceuta, to finance different actions in the field of plant health.
The total credit for territorial distribution between the autonomous communities for plant and animal health amounts to 19,081,470 euros. The distribution is made according to the requests made by the different autonomous communities on their financing needs in the year 2025 for the realization of the programs committed in these two areas.
Once authorized by the Government, the territorial distribution of these funds will be submitted to the Sectoral Conference on Agriculture and Rural Development for approval. The effective distribution will depend on the existence or not of remnants with the different autonomous communities.
In plant health, 9,323,190 euros are allocated, of which 39,065 euros correspond to Ceuta for the implementation of programs that allow the control and subsequent eradication of certain plant pests and diseases that have an impact on the economy of the agricultural sector and on farms. This contribution includes the funding of laboratories collaborating with national programmes for phytosanitary prospecting, quarantine and eradication and various pest monitoring and control programmes.
In animal health, 9,758,280 euros are distributed, to support the financing of programmes for the control and eradication of animal diseases that have an impact on public health and on exports of livestock products.
These funds will be earmarked for compensation for the compulsory slaughter of animals affected by diseases such as tuberculosis and bovine, ovine and caprine brucellosis; for support for the repopulation of farms that have had to undergo sanitary emptying as a result of these diseases and for surveillance programmes for transmissible spongiform encephalopathy.
