In order to promote healthy and violence-free relations between equals, the Coordination Unit against Violence against Women of the Government Delegation in Ceuta has today launched a campaign, taking advantage of this important date, to raise awareness of the risks of violence in emotional relations.
In this project the different Provincial Directorates and Areas dependent on this Delegation participate. “We believe in the importance of promoting respect, open communication and empathy as fundamental pillars of any relationship. We seek to inspire everyone to build meaningful and lasting connections, and therefore we would like to send you a proposal for reflection on the myths of romantic love to prevent gender violence in couple relationships.”
The questioning of many preconceived ideas about love is transmitted in several of the arguments used by advertising, literature, music and cinema, to cite just a few examples.
These postulates entail the danger of tolerating toxic attitudes, far from love, that lead to violence, without us sometimes being aware of it.
Information, training, awareness and prevention in terms of equality of gender violence is essential if we want to aspire to live in a more just and egalitarian society.
