The delegate of the Government in Ceuta, Cristina Pérez, made this Wednesday an assessment of the management of the Central Government in the autonomous city highlighting in her appearance the commitment to measures aimed at guaranteeing the welfare of citizens and the execution of European funds.
Pérez has assured that “the purpose of the Government remains to improve the lives of citizens.” In this regard, he recalled the 347 euros more that pensioners receive, placing the average pension at 1,549 euros per month and the 2.3 million euros that have been invested in scholarships. In addition, in Ceuta 12,466 people are beneficiaries of the Minimum Vital Income (IMV) and there are 1,783 beneficiaries of an electric social bond.
Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan
The government delegate has also highlighted that since 2021 Ceuta has received 98.7 million euros from the NEXT GENERATION Funds. Of these, 23.9 million euros from OBJECTIVE-EU and 74.9 million euros from the Recovery Plan, of which 51.8 million euros have been received through transfers in Sectorial Conference, agreements and direct concessions agreed with the City.
In addition, through direct execution actions of the General Administration of the State, 349 projects with 23.1 million euros are being executed.
Infrastructure
Projects to improve the sustainability of the Port of Ceuta are being financed with more than 1.1 million euros, thanks to the works for the construction of a general collector on Avenida Cañonero Dato.
SMEs
Currently there are already 300 SMEs and self-employed people in the City of Ceuta who have the digital kit voucher for their digitalization, for a total value of 1.2 million euros.
Training
The Ministry of Education has already created 2,244 vocational training places (870 bilinguals). It has also allocated more than 308,000 euros for the digitization of classrooms and purchase of computer equipment to reduce the digital divide.
In addition, 16 public education centers in the City of Ceuta are already benefiting from PROA+ support projects with more than 198,000 euros of grant, with the objective of reducing school dropout rates through support and guidance to students in situations of educational vulnerability. And a project of digitization of public schools of the MEFPyD is being carried out with a budget of 747,000 euros.
Employment
Employment and future employability are central axes of the PRTR in Ceuta. In the autonomous city the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) is already implementing projects for the employability and insertion of certain vulnerable groups, workers in ERTE and also specifically aimed at women with about 5.5 million euros.
Two TanDEM projects are already under way to provide work-linked training to young people in public workshop schools worth nearly 1.6 million. Finalmente, se está poniendo en marcha un Centro de Orientación, Emprendimiento, Acompañamiento e Innovación para el empleo por valor de 484.000 €.
Rehabilitation
The energy rehabilitation project is being implemented at the National Police Station (645,000 €) and 1.1 million for the Union Patrimony.
Housing
Two agreements have been signed, one for the construction of 29 homes for social rent in an energy-efficient building on Calle Miquel Lara and another within the neighborhood rehabilitation program for the performance in Antiguo Patronato Juan XXIII and 40 homes for the amount of more than 660,000 euros.
