During the past weekend there has been a significant increase in both vehicles and people passing through the Tarajal border, motivated mainly by the holiday and the arrival of many tourists who have chosen the border of Ceuta to start their trip to Morocco.
17,384 people and 4,501 vehicles have entered Ceuta from Morocco and on the contrary, from Ceuta to Morocco, 14,733 people and 3,836 vehicles have left. This data has meant that the National Police has carried out more than 32,000 documentary checks at the border crossing.
During the bridge, the National Police and the Civil Guard have had all the available lanes operational and there have been no incidents at the documentary and customs control points.
And on Friday, coinciding with the start of the weekend, at the pocketing point the waiting times did not exceed two hours.
The data for the last three days are similar to average days within Operation Strait Pass, so work is already underway on the OPE 2023 device and the first coordination meeting has been convened on Friday.
The Government Delegation is grateful for the work done, in recent days, by agents of the State Security Corps and Forces serving at the border.
