The Ministry of Education and Professional Training has proposed to the Council of Ministers the creation in our city of the first cycle children’s school “El Cornetín”, an initiative that will be produced soon.
The opening of this centre fulfils the objective of progressively increasing public places in the first cycle of early childhood education as advocated by article 15 of Organic Law 2/2006, of 3 May, on Education.
The children's school will be governed by the provisions of Organic Law 8/1985, of July 3, regulating the Right to Education and Organic Law 2/2006, of May 3, on Education, as well as the provisions that develop it, and especially, by the agreement signed on March 29, 2022 between the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Education and Professional Training regarding the economic and operational regime of the school.
Compliance with the minimum requirements established by Order EDU/1965/2010, of 14 July, which regulates the requirements to be met by the centers that teach the first cycle of infant education and different aspects related to the admission of students, the participation, organization and operation of these centers in the cities of Ceuta and Melilla has been verified.
The LOMLOE prioritizes Early Childhood Education as a key period of the educational process and this measure contributes to the fulfillment of the objective of promoting schooling in the first cycle of this stage.
