The Ministry of Finance and Public Function has delivered a total of 123,356 million euros in cash deliveries to the Autonomous Communities of the Common System and to the Cities with Autonomous Status during 2023, compared to 111,276 million euros in 2022.
This figure is the highest in the historical series. This means that these territorial entities have had in the course of 2023 a volume of resources for deliveries on account higher by 12,080 million euros than the figure they had in the previous year, which represents an increase of 11%.
The payment of the deliveries on account is made monthly, through two revenues to the Autonomous Communities of Common System and Cities of Ceuta and Melilla: one at the beginning of the month and another at the end.
In particular, in the month of December, these territorial entities have entered 10.280 billion euros, compared to 9.273 billion a year earlier, that is, 1,007 million more.
e In this way, the Ministry of Finance and Public Function complies with the system of autonomous financing, which operates by means of payments on account of the tax resources that are estimated to be paid throughout the year as income tax (the autonomous tariff) and the percentages set by the law that corresponds to VAT and Special Taxes and that the Central State advances.
Added to these figures are the estimated tax revenues based on the economic forecasts included in the State’s General Budgets of 2023, the payments on account of the Global Sufficiency Fund and the transfer of the Fundamental Public Services Guarantee Fund.
This year’s PGEs show the Government’s commitment to all territories, so that they can provide the Welfare State’s public services within the sphere of their competences with excellent quality.
In total, in the year 2023, the Autonomous Communities of Common System and Cities of Ceuta and Melilla have entered 123,356 million euros in account deliveries, a figure that exceeds by more than 12 billion euros the amount they received in 2022 for this concept and that is the highest in the historical series.
