The normality in the development of Operation Passage of the Strait, both in its phase of departure and in the phase of return, is this year being the note that best defines the transit of citizens who have chosen Ceuta as a place of access to their countries of origin.
The waiting times have not exceeded, at the height of the times, the 60 minutes and the city, as was the objective of the Government Delegation, has not been affected at any time by this flow of vehicles.
The coordination between all the agencies involved in the management of this process is working satisfactorily and given the dates in which we find ourselves there are no very high peaks in the arrival of vehicles.
However, in anticipation that during the last days of this month there could be a significant arrival of vehicles, the implementation of a special device has been planned.
Since last June 15, when OPE 2023 began, 256,739 passengers and 58,046 vehicles have made use of the Algeciras-Ceuta route, 14.9% less than in 2022 in terms of passengers and 17.3% less in vehicles.
The Delegation of the Government of Ceuta appreciates the work being done by the Government of the Autonomous City of Ceuta, General Directorate of Civil Protection and Emergencies, staff of AMGEVICESA, Port Authority Directorate, National Police, Civil Guard, Red Cross, Tax Agency, Private Security EULEN and the Voluntary Association of Civil Protection.
