Once the Admission Guarantees Commission was constituted and the mandatory meeting of the president with the management teams was held, the most relevant aspects of the regular schooling procedure for the 2023-2024 school year are reported:
- The number of students who enter the educational system this year in 3-year-olds will be carried out during this school year and is estimated at a maximum of 850 places, according to the data on births and the forecast of possible transfers.
The most relevant novelty for the 2023/2024 school year is that the ratios will be harmonized in all three-year early childhood education units. It will change from a maximum ratio of 25 to 23 if a student with special educational needs is enrolled or a maximum of 21 if there are, in the same classroom, two students who present such needs. Therefore, 972 places will be offered for children of 3 years that are expected to be enough to maintain the
- ratios in this age range below 23 students in almost all classrooms.
- The deadline for the submission of applications for participation in the regular admission process is 19 April to 9 May, inclusive. The publication of the vacancies offered at each of the educational levels will take place on April 18, 2023. This offer will be sufficient to guarantee the free choice of centers both in children of 3 years, and in first of ESO (96 vacancies).
- An exhaustive study has been carried out with regard to students who start their first year of baccalaureate, taking into account the novelty of the incorporation of the new general baccalaureate, and sufficient vacancies have been proposed for public HEIs to absorb students from the existing concerted centres in their area of schooling (299 vacancies).
- Families will be able to choose to submit the application both electronically and physically in the center to those who choose as the first option. It should be noted that, for the award of second or subsequent options, the score corresponding to the center indicated as the first option will be considered.
- The schooling of students with special educational needs will be carried out, as every year, through the Admission Guarantees Commission in which all sectors (administration, teachers, families, Autonomous City…) are represented, with the attention it requires. In any case, a balanced distribution of the 3-year-old students who have been attended during this school year by the Early Care Service will be carried out, paying special attention to the preferences of the families.
