The Unit for Coordination against Violence against Women, within the framework of its competences and to extend equal opportunities policies between women and men, carries out numerous actions and initiatives aimed at combating gender violence. Trafficking in women and girls for the purpose of sexual exploitation is a terrible manifestation of this inequality. Having said that, it is necessary to learn to identify it in our most immediate context and to articulate the resources, programs and services necessary to care for the victims.
The Coordination Unit against Violence against Women of the Government Delegation organizes this week the first DAYS ON HUMAN TRAFFICKING.
This activity, which is part of the State Policies on Equality between Women and Men, has among its objectives the raising of awareness and information on the sexual exploitation and trafficking of women. These seminars are specifically aimed at Security Forces and Bodies and other identifying agents, and will be entitled “Victims of Trafficking: Gender Perspective in International Protection”.
The tragic reality is that this is a problem that affects a large number of women and girls, who constitute the majority of people who are victims of trafficking worldwide. In this forum where the crime of an attack on the rights, security and dignity of the people will be discussed and learned more in depth.
Among the issues to be analyzed are the modus operandi of traffickers, the means and purposes of human trafficking, the detection and recognition of the victims of this crime, the identification of the needs of international protection in Ceuta or the complementarity and compatibility of protection responses, and which will be possible thanks to the assistance of the participants and the collaboration of the speakers.
These days will take place over two days, on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week in multipurpose room 1 of the Center of Orientation and Entrepreneurship of the SEPE in Ceuta, located in the Building La Mutua, Avenida de Otero s/n from 9:30 to 14:30 hours and at its inauguration will have the presence of the Government Delegate.
The Government Delegation considers that the specialization of institutions and entities is the key to improving the fight against trafficking in human beings.
