Carlos Prieto receives the new dean of the ICAB in his first institutional visit to the Delegation

  • The government delegate holds the first institutional meeting with the new dean of the ICAB, Cristina Vallejo, in a meeting in which the shared will to work together for a more modern, efficient and people-centred justice has been put together.

Barcelona, July 31, 2025.- The government delegate in Catalonia, Carlos Prieto, held a meeting on Thursday with Cristina Vallejo, new dean of the Bar Association of Barcelona (ICAB). In this first official meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Government Delegation, topics of interest to lawyers have been discussed with the aim of working together for a more modern, efficient and people-centred justice.

This women’s meeting continues the fluid relationship between the Government of Spain and the collegiate institutions and has allowed to establish a first space for dialogue and collaboration between the General Administration of the State and the new Governing Board of the ICAB, recently renewed.
Prieto already attended on July 3 the act of taking office of Vallejo as dean of the ICAB, which took over from Jesús Sánchez at the head of the Catalan legal profession.
