- This is the fourth edition of the “Lilac Week” organized by the institution
- The subdelegations will join the Days of Protest by holding a series of events throughout the week
Barcelona, March 3, 2023.- The Government Delegation in Catalonia begins this Monday a new edition of the ‘Lila Week’, five days of actions and activities around equality to commemorate International Women’s Day, which is celebrated on March 8.
The kick-off of ‘Lila Week 2023’ will take place this Monday, March 6, with a women’s leadership workshop in which, under the title ‘Learn to listen to you and get your best version’, coach Marta Pitarch, will give guidelines to acquire the skills that a woman needs to be able to achieve her objectives from a cyclical and feminine aspect to all the workers of the different units of the Government Delegation.
On the same Monday, the Delegation will make a violet ribbon available to all officials so that they can wear it throughout the week.
On Tuesday 7, the Government Delegation organizes a round table ‘Women and disability: the double barrier in the labour market’. The headquarters of the Delegation will host this colloquium that will be moderated by the delegate of the Government, M. Eugènia Gay, and in which María Jordà, Sonia Guirado and Pilar Díaz will participate and where the existing inequalities in the workplace for women with disabilities will be analyzed and how this alters their autonomy and personal self-realization.
At the beginning of Wednesday, March 8, the Government delegate will participate in the breakfast “Equality and the role of women in the professional field organized by the Equestrian Circle and where she will address the role of women in the professional environment, both public and private.
At noon, the delegate will receive the professor of the UPC, Gerard Amirian, accompanied by a delegation of Iranian citizens residing in Catalonia, to be able to deepen the situation of human rights in Iran and especially the situation of women in their country.
In the afternoon, M. Eugènia Gay, plans to attend the 8M demonstration. On the same Wednesday, the government delegate in Catalonia will broadcast an institutional message through its social networks to commemorate the 8M.
On Thursday, March 9, M. Eugènia Gay will participate in the inauguration of the Barcelona Woman Acceleration Week (BWAW), an initiative that this year celebrates its third edition and will focus on the visibility of women in the world of the economy. The initiative, promoted by the Consortium of the Free Trade Area (CZFB) and the Incyde Foundation of the Chambers of Commerce of Spain, will take place in Barcelona on 9 and 10 March.
In the afternoon, Gay will moderate, again in the Government Delegation, a round table that, under the title ‘Women in the professional world: success stories’, will feature the participation of María Teixidor, Anna Gener, Cristina Cabañas and Laia Rogel. The forum aims to share experiences of female leadership and analyze the challenges of the future as well as the actions necessary to continue consolidating female participation in today's society.
On Friday, March 10, she will move to Mollet del Vallès where she will participate in the Congress of Women in the Public Sector held in Mollet del Vallès.
SUBDELEGATIONS
Likewise, the different subdelegations of the Government have also organized different actions that will be carried out throughout the week. On March 6, the subdelegation of Tarragona organizes a round table, “Gifts in Value” and will then inaugurate the exhibition “L´Ombra del passat” by the author Vicky Roldán.
In Girona, the Subdelegation of the Government has scheduled for Monday a women’s personal defense workshop aimed at women who want to acquire knowledge and skills to be able to defend themselves in case of a possible aggression. Among other events, this subdelegation will collaborate with the II Marxa Solidària per les Dones, which organizes the platform of Dones de Blanes and the Institut S’Agulla
The Subdelegation of Lleida, as well as the other subdelegations, will collaborate actively throughout the week in the institutional act of 8M.
