- Visit the spaces where a new passarela will be built financed with 810,000 euros from the Next Generation Funds
Sant Andreu de la Barca, February 3, 2023.- The delegate of the Government in Catalonia, Maria Eurgènia Gay, has highlighted the importance of co-governance between the State, the autonomous communities and the municipalities to respond to the needs of the citizens in a "difficult geopolitical" time.
Maria Eugènia Gay has visited today Sant Andreu de la Barca (Barcelona) accompanied by the mayor of the city, Ana Alba, who has transferred the needs of the town in matters that are competent to her.
The delegate of the Government pointed out that “we are in a very complex geopolitical moment in which it is more necessary than ever to recover the essence of the Rule of Law and the Welfare State and this is operated with the cogovernança between the State, the autonomous communities and the municipalities”.
In this regard, Gay has highlighted the “fundamental role of municipalities to listen to the needs of society and to know first-hand how they are suffering the consequences of the economic crisis and to be able to transfer them to the government.”
From her band, the mayor has stressed the importance of actions carried out by the central government in aspects of ecological transition and that reach the municipalities with the Next Generation funds.
In Sant Andreu de la Barca, this initiative translates into an investment of 810,000 euros for the connection of two areas of the city with the construction of a passarela that will save the railways and become a green corridor.
