The Government delegate in Castilla y León, Nicanor Sen, today inaugurated the “I Meeting of AGE professionals in the field of violence against women in Castilla y León”, which takes place in person from the Government Subdelegation in Ávila and via streaming for all of Castilla y León, facilitating the attendance of the greatest number of professionals involved in the matter.
The first meeting also included the Deputy Government Delegate in Ávila, the Coordinator of Victim Assistance Offices, and the Head of the Coordination Unit of the Units on Violence against Women. Likewise, all the penitentiary centers of Castilla y León are represented, through the sub-directors and sub-directors of treatment and technical teams, and all the offices of assistance to the victims of the territory of Castilla y León.
Nicanor Sen wanted to make clear the commitment of the Government of Spain in the integral fight against all types of violence against women in our society “It is a priority that professionals have complete information on the measures that can be adopted in relation to the protection and security, of the victims, the rights and aid that the law recognizes and the resources of care, emergency, support and integral recovery to which they can access” said Sen.
Nicanor Sen, during his speech, stressed the importance of these working meetings to “establish proposals for improvement that can be visualized in concrete actions in the territories and that are determined in a better quality and guarantee of the fulfillment of the rights of the victims and their protection.”
The main objective of this first meeting is to promote coordination, seek new lines of action, create new channels of communication as well as a map of proposals for improvement in the territory in order to promote an improvement in protection, attention, response and intervention with victims of gender violence, from three resources of the General State Administration (AGE): Penitentiary Institutions, Offices for Assistance to Victims of Crime and Units of Violence against Women present in the Government Subdelegations.
In addition, the meeting was supported by the Assistant Director-General for Institutional Relations and Territorial Coordination of the General Secretariat for Penitentiary Institutions and the Assistant Director-General for Territorial Cooperation and Coordination of the Administration of Justice.
