The Local Security Board of Benavente establishes the device to guarantee a safe party

• The Civil Guard will deploy a large citizen protection team to guarantee the normal development of the Fiestas del Toro Enmaromado • The crime data offered by Government Subdelegation reflect that Benavente is a safe city

Zamora, May 21, 2024. The Benavente City Council has hosted this Tuesday the celebration of the Local Security Board, on the occasion of the Fiesta del Toro Enmaromado. The deputy delegate of the Government, Ángel Blanco, co-chaired the meeting with the mayor, Beatriz Asensio and in it the State Security Bodies and Forces and administrations involved in the realization of the security protocol for the festivities of the city of Benavente have also participated.

A protocol that brings together the bodies of the Civil Guard, Civil Traffic Guard, Local Police of Benavente, the Civil Protection Group of Benavente and Firefighters of the Park of Benavente with the aim of making the festivities of Toro Enmaromado as safe as possible. The security device will be reinforced on Wednesday, May 29 and Saturday, June 1, where a greater influx of visitors is expected.

The lieutenant colonel of the Civil Guard Command of Zamora, Héctor David Pulido, has indicated that the device deployed in Benavente will be similar to that of previous years. The Civil Guard will have the support of the GRS unit (Reserve and Security Group) and the support in the air of the ‘Pegaso’ team with its drones and a helicopter.

For his part, the subdelegate of the Government, Ángel Blanco, has offered a balance of the crime data of Benavente in the last four months where an increase of 30 denunciations is reflected more than in the first four months of 2023. Burglaries are falling with violence in the homes, from 3 to 2 complaints, they are also falling in establishments and other places and the number of complaints of theft is increasing. Drug trafficking crimes are also on the increase, while crimes against sexual freedom are maintained compared to the previous year (2).

“It does not mean that there is more crime, but that there is more effectiveness of the Civil Guard,” said the government’s deputy delegate, who has acknowledged that Benavente’s data are a faithful reflection of the city’s safety. For her part, the mayor of Benavente has thanked the work of all the State Security Bodies and Forces to guarantee the safety of all the neighbors of Benavente and all the people who visit us during these dates.
