The Civil Guard of Castilla y León has completed the delivery and training necessary for the use of the Incapacitating Electric Pistols (PEI), better known as “taser”, and which will be used from now on, in the nine provinces of the Community, by the Citizen Security Units of Command (USECIC´s).
This type of “taser” pistols is a non-lethal alternative solution to the firearm and serves to face situations of risk both for the civil guards themselves, and for the citizens in general, its function being eminently deterrent.
For the award of this type of “non-lethal” weapon, the agents have been specially selected and have received a complete training course, with detailed instructions on its use.
Likewise, and in order to document graphically the interventions in which they are used and give a greater guarantee of legal security, these pistols are joined by a recording device (personal camera axon body2).
