Institutional farewell
May 9, 2024. The government delegate in Castilla y León, Nicanor Sen, received this Thursday in the Delegation the hitherto chief general of the XII Zone of the Civil Guard who, after his recent promotion to lieutenant general, the highest category of the Benemérita, is waiting to join his new destination.
Sen wanted to say goodbye to the lieutenant general, whom he thanked for his work at the head of the XII Zone, based in León, and he wished him the greatest success in his new stage. The delegate has also highlighted his enormous willingness to collaborate institutionally and his effort and work to combat crime and ensure the safety, especially, of the most vulnerable groups.
Luis Antonio del Castillo Ruano, born in Bilbao in 1963, has an outstanding career in the Civil Guard. He entered the General Military Academy of Zaragoza and has held various positions and destinations throughout his career, including the Rapid Action Group (GAR) and the Bizkaia Command. Before assuming command of the XII Zone of the Civil Guard in Castilla y León in September 2021, he was head of the Benemérita in Cantabria.
