Adif will eliminate two level steps in Alar del Rey (Palencia) with an investment of 7.3 million euros
Improvement of the permeability of the line Venta de Bathrooms-Santander
30 APRIL 2024
Adif will eliminate two level steps in the municipality of Alar del Rey (Palencia), in the conventional wide line Venta de Bathrooms-Santander, with an investment of 7.3 million euros.
The solution chosen for both deletions is the construction of two lower passages that will give greater permeability to the line and improve safety conditions for pedestrians and rail and road traffic.
The development of the action is carried out in an urban environment entirely, therefore, the roads have been redesigned so that they coincide sensibly with the current ones to optimize the urban network.
The passage at the level of General Franco Street will be replaced by a lower passage of exclusive use for pedestrians a few meters away. It will have access through stairs and ramps.
The other lower pass (50 m) will be built under the current Abilio Calderón Street and will be for use by vehicles and pedestrians. It will have a driveway with two lanes, two sidewalks and stairs and access ramps.
These actions contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 (Health and Welfare), 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) and 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
