MITECO publishes a map of projects funded by the Recovery Plan

• Users can consult the funds deployed directly by the Ministry and its dependent agencies in the territory • In total, the Ministry has a budget of 23,286 million, of which 5,444 million correspond to the current year • MITECO is responsible for compliance with 20% of the milestones and objectives set by the Recovery Plan and its Addendum

April 17, 2024. The Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) has published this Wednesday a map that reflects the execution of funds of the Transformation and Resilience Recovery Plan (PRTR) carried out directly by the ministry and the agencies that depend on it, such as the Institute for Diversification and Energy Saving, the Biodiversity Foundation, the National Parks Autonomous Agency, the Hydrographic Confederations and the Fair Transition Institute.

This map, which can be consulted hereit allows to review the deployment of the investments made to date in each of the territories, at the same time offering a global vision of the distribution of the funds executed and how the fulfillment of the milestones and objectives in the different areas of action under the responsibility of MITECO is being carried out.

DETAIL OF THE PROJECTS PROMOTED BY MITECO

This new web portal seeks to provide as much information as possible on the evolution of the execution of PRTR funds in a clear and transparent manner. To this end, two maps have been drawn up: in the first, the projects financed directly by MITECO and the agencies linked to it are registered; in the second, the funds that have been transferred to the communities so that they are the ones that ultimately manage them.

On the first map citizens will be able to access the information, which is disaggregated at the municipal level, by clicking on each of the points on the map, where the following data will be offered:

• Total amount of the dossier financed from the European funds of the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism.
• Area of action – Energy efficiency, Renewable energies, Water and coastal resources, Mobility, Ecosystems and biodiversity, Just transition, Renewable hydrogen, Storage and networks, and Waste management and Circular Economy – and particular theme within this area of action: Geothermal, Digital Transition, Biogas, etc.
• Coordinates of the location of the investment and the municipality.

In addition, to facilitate consultation, this tool allows the user to filter investments by area and by theme.

GREATER TRANSPARENCY IN THE MANAGEMENT OF FUNDS

This new portal, where citizens can easily consult the deployment of the funds, will be updated periodically, will contribute to increase the transparency with which MITECO is carrying out the management of the budget coming from the PRTR.

Thus, the data included in these maps complement the information of the aid finder of the MITECO website concerning European funds NextGenUE and also the one corresponding to the execution of funds broken down by Component –which contains data on the budget allocation for each of them: how much has been mobilised and in what form, via transfer to the territories, direct investment or subsidy–.

MITECO is responsible for the fulfillment of 117 out of 595 of the milestones and objectives set by the Recovery Plan and its Addendum, almost 20%, for which it has a budget amounting to 23,286 million, of which 5,444 million correspond to the current year.
