The Ministry of Education issues a document to answer doubts about the changes of the EBAU
Castile and Leon: 5, 6 and 7 June
April 16, 2024. The Ministry of Education has prepared a document in which it answers the main questions that arise among the students of 2nd Baccalaureate who next June face the entrance test of the University.
The Government Delegation in Castilla y León wants to contribute to the students of the Community to the test, which will be held on 5, 6 and 7 June, with all possible doubts resolved by disseminating the document issued from the Ministry.
The introduction of the new Baccalaureate curricula and the need to adapt the test to the Education Law have introduced small changes in the characteristics, design and content of the Baccalaureate Assessment for University Access (EBAU).
The number of subjects to be examined is maintained as in previous courses, which is fixed at four in the communities without a co-official language. In this way, in Castilla y León students will be examined in Spanish Language and Literature II, Foreign Language II and the specific obligatory subject of the modality. Fourthly and in compliance with the educational law, they will have to choose between History of Spain or History of Philosophy.
For the first time in this course, students who have completed the new General Baccalaureate modality, introduced by the Education Law approved in 2020, will be presented for the test.
The exams will last 90 minutes, with 30 minutes of minimum rest between tests, and there will only be one exam proposal with questions to choose from. In addition, they will all be done in writing.
The qualification of access to the university is calculated by weighting 60% the normalized average grade (excluding the subject of Religion) obtained in 1st and 2nd Baccalaureate, and 40% the qualification of the obligatory part of the EBAU. To be able to access the university this average grade must be equal to or greater than 5 points.
In the event that the student suspends any of the mandatory exams of the EBAU, he/she will be able to access the University provided that the average grade is equal to or greater than 4 points and the grade of access to the university is equal to or greater than 5 points.
Can I repeat tests to upload notes? Can I apply to the EBAU if I finished my Baccalaureate more than a year ago? Can I request a review of my exams? When are the test results published? These are some of the questions that the Ministry of Education answers through the document EBAU 2023/2024 frequently asked questions.
