The Subdelegation of the Government in Valladolid and the City of Arroyo de la Encarenda coordinate security for the next festivities of San Juan
From 3rd to 7th May
April 15, 2024. The Subdelegate of the Government in Valladolid, Jacinto Canales, and the mayor of Arroyo de la Encarenda, Sarbelio Fernández, have co-chaired today the Local Security Board for the next patron saint’s festivities of San Juan 2024, which will be held in the town between May 3 and 7.
88 members of the Civil Guard and 20 of the Municipal Police will work so that the residents and visitors of Arroyo de la Encarenda can enjoy those days in safety, together with the volunteers of Civil Protection and the Firefighters of the Provincial Council.
The main areas of interest are the Socayo Park, in the central area of which the houses of the rocks are installed; the cowboy ring; the children's and dance area, on the fronton, and the fireworks area. On the other hand, the square of San Juan, in front of the hermitage of San Juan Ante Portam Latinam, is where the concerts of the festivities are programmed.
The Local Security Board has analyzed the access plans and sanitary evacuation routes for the spaces where the events will take place, as well as the launch area for the fireworks and the necessary security perimeter.
The Government Subdelegation has indicated the possibility of marking, with specific signs, Violet Points against sexual assaults, within the premises where the greatest concentration of people is expected. In addition, the Gender Violence Unit of the Subdelegation offers the necessary training for the people who attend these Violet Points.
