Unemployment fell by 2,615 people in March and stood at 112,765 in Castilla y León
Castilla y León reaches 959,589 members of the Social Security
April 2, 2024.- The number of unemployed and unemployed registered in the offices of the Public Service of State Employment (SEPE) of Castilla y León at the end of March has decreased by 2,615 people (-2.27%). Registered unemployment stands at 112,765 people in the Community.
On the other hand, Castilla y León reaches 959,589 members of the Social Security, which means a year-on-year increase of more than 2%. The Community labour market created 19,528 over the last year and 5,279 in March alone.
Valladolid is the province that has recorded the best performance in the last 12 months in absolute terms, with the creation of almost 5,000 jobs, followed by Burgos (3,281), Salamanca (2,989) and León (2,726).
Soria and Ávila are at the forefront of the Community in terms of job creation, with 861 and 858 new posts, respectively.
Unemployment by sector in Castilla y León
Unemployment fell in Services by 2,010 people (-2.43%), in Industry by 268 people (-2.96%), in Agriculture by 117 people (-2.37%) and in Construction by 96 people (-1.33%).
It also decreased in the previous Unemployed Group by 122 people (-1.06%).
Unemployment by sex and age in Castilla y León
In March, unemployment fell, especially among women, with 1,673 women unemployed less than in the previous month (-2.45%). The total number of unemployed women is 66,602.
Male unemployment fell slightly at a slower pace: 2% with 942 men unemployed less than in the previous month and stood at 46,163.
Unemployment among young people under 25 years of age fell in the month of March by 484 people (-5.1%). The total number of unemployed young people stands at 9,005.
Unemployment in other autonomous communities
Unemployment rises in the Basque Country (in 926 people) and the Community of Madrid (in 701 people) and there are fewer unemployed people in fifteen autonomous communities with Andalusia (-11,374), the Canary Islands (-4,686) and the Valencian Community (-3,998) in the lead.
Contracts in Castilla y León
In March, a total of 47,640 new contracts were signed. Of these, 17,172 are of an indefinite nature and represent 36.05% of all contracts. The total number of temporary contracts registered in March is 30,468 temporary contracts.
Unemployment benefits in February in Castilla y León
The existing beneficiaries and beneficiaries at the end of the month were 74,749.
The coverage of the unemployment protection system during the month of February 2024 has been 66.29%.
The average monthly expenditure per beneficiary for the month of February 2024 has been 984.60 euros.
The total expenditure for February 2024 amounted to 80.1 million euros.
