March 26, 2024.- The average Social Security pension of the system, in March, in Castilla y León amounts to 1,250.25 euros per month, 5% more than a year ago thanks to the revaluation made at the beginning of the year. This average corresponds to the amount of the different types of pension (retirement, permanent disability, widowhood, orphanhood and in favour of family members).
In March, the number of Castilian and Leonese pensioners was 572,230. Of these, 266,329 are men and 305,901 are women.
The retirement pension is the main one for 405,717 people in Castilla y León. In the case of the widow ' s pension, 149,437 persons receive it as the main benefit. On the other hand, there are 45,642 permanent disability recipients, 19,086 orphans, and 3,898 family members.
With respect to March 2019, the year before the pandemic, the average pension in the whole of Spain has increased by 27%. If we take as reference the entry into force of Law 21/2021, which guarantees the purchasing power of pensions, the average pension of the system has increased by 21.4% (March 2021), thanks in large part to the revaluation according to the IPC, applied in the last 3 years.
Average pension in Castilla y León
As already mentioned, the average pension of the system, in the third month of the year, stands at 1,250.25 euros per month, 5% more than the same month of the previous year.
The average retirement pension, for its part, is 1,431.63 euros. The average widow’s pension reached 889.78 euros per month.
For its part, the average pension for permanent disability in Castilla y León has been 1,157.32 euros; that of orphanhood, 540.75 euros; and the pension in favor of relatives, 752.64 euros.
With gender gap complement in Castilla y León
In March, 42,508 pensions of Castilians and Leoneses have the complement to reduce the gender gap. The average monthly amount of this supplement in the pension is 72 euros. Of the 42,508 supplementary pensions, 24.13% are pensioners with one child (10,256), who previously did not have access to the maternity supplement. 46.39% of the beneficiaries have two children (19,721); 18.34%, with three (7,794), and with four children, 11.16% (4,746).
This supplement, in force since February 2021, consists of a fixed amount, after the revaluation applied in 2024, of 33.20 euros per month per child. It is requested at the same time as the pension is requested.
Passive classes in Spain
For its part, the monthly pension payroll of Passive Classes amounted to 1,571.9 million euros in the month of February, the last data available. This figure represents an increase of 99.8 million euros compared to the previous year, 6.8% more.
The number of pensions in force was 707,822, 15,064 more pensions than in the same month of the previous year (2.2% annual variation).
The Passive Class System of the State includes primarily military and civilian personnel of the General Administration of the State, the Administration of Justice, the General Courts and other constitutional or State bodies, as well as officials transferred to the autonomous communities.
