Transportes awards the works of humanization and urban integration of the stone bridge in Soria for one million euros
Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan
March 5, 2024.- The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has awarded for one million euros (VAT included), the humanization and rehabilitation works of the stone bridge, located on the N-234 road between the kilometric points 349,201 and 349,312, in the municipality of Soria.
The project involves the humanization and calming of traffic on the aforementioned bridge, with the aim of integrating it into the urban fabric of Soria.
In it, actions such as the adaptation of sidewalks, signaling of bike lanes shared with the lane for vehicles, replacement of services and rehabilitation of lighting are defined. It also includes the repair of all the deteriorated bridge elements and the rest of the complementary works of the previous ones to be developed in the stretch.
All this with the aim of improving its functionality, road and structural safety, adapting it to the markedly urban environment in which it is located and carrying out the necessary repair actions for the rehabilitation of the medieval bridge.
This action implies that, once the works are completed, the section will be ceded to the City Council in accordance with the regulations that establish the framework for the conclusion of delivery agreements to the City Councils of urban roads of the state network.
This intervention is included in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), within the voyage humanization program, which plans to invest 105 million euros (VAT not included) to promote a more sustainable, inclusive and accessible urban environment.
