March 5, 2024.- The Deputy Delegate of the Government, Marian Rueda, met today, accompanied by the lieutenant colonel of the Civil Guard, Benito Donate, with mayors who had requested information on the coverage of places of the Benemérita after the last extraordinary contest, with which another 20 agents have arrived in the province.
These troops are in addition to the 58 that joined the Segovia workforce last November.
The meeting was attended by the mayors of Aguilafuente, Luis Mariano García; Aldeasoña, Miguel Ángel Regidor; Cozuelos de Fuentidueña, Vicente Bayón; Fuentepiñel, Marcial Barrio; Fuenteaúco de Fuentidueña, Javier Polo; Frumales, Francisco Javier Sanz; Membibre de la Hoz, Enrique Pesquera; Olombrada, Rosa María de Blas; and Perosillo, Roberto Domingo.
At the meeting, the deputy delegate and the lieutenant colonel listened to the mayors’ demands and concerns.
Marian Rueda recalled that the province has 31 Civil Guard barracks, divided into three companies (Segovia, Sepúlveda and Cuéllar), which cover the entire extension of the 208 municipalities.
After assessing “the excellent work, response time, level of clarification and effectiveness of the Civil Guard in the province”, the subdelegate stressed “the effort being made by the Ministry of the Interior to provide more personnel and better working conditions and attention to the citizen”. In this regard, he has considered satisfactory the coverage of Benemérita places in the province, “although we would all like to have more agents in areas where there are vacancies”. He added that a new transfer contest is planned for the last quarter of this year.
In addition, it has offered the possibility of providing information and holding meetings with mayors whenever they need it.
