March 1, 2024.- The Secretary General of Penitentiary Institutions, Ángel Luis Ortiz, has appointed Nuria San José as the new director of the Penitentiary Center of Segovia. San José takes over from Milagros González, who will be in charge of the Direction of Programs in the Penitentiary Center of Ávila.
San José, graduated in Psychology from the Pontifical University of Salamanca, joined the Superior Corps of Prison Institution Technicians in 2003. During her professional career, she has worked as a psychologist in the prisons of Dueñas (Palencia), Teixeiro (A Coruña) and El Dueso (Cantabria), and has been deputy director of Treatment in both the Penitentiary Center of León and Valladolid, since she has worked from 2008 to the present.
For her part, Milagros González has a degree in Psychology and has been a member of the Higher Corps of Prison Technicians since 1995. During this time, he has been in charge of the Madrid I, Teruel, Ocaña I and Segovia penitentiaries. She has also been a psychologist in the prisons of Daroca and Badajoz and has been deputy director of Treatment in Teruel and, of Régime, in Ávila.
