February 23, 2024.- The Government Subdelegation hosted this morning a coordination meeting on Ukrainian refugees in which the situation of these citizens in the province has been reviewed
The meeting is held on a regular basis and has been chaired by the Government’s deputy delegate, Marian Rueda. The Chief Commissioner of the National Police, Miguel Ángel Martínez, participated along with an inspector; the Civil Guard; the Department of Social Services of the City of Segovia; the Deputy Special Delegate for Assistance to Municipalities and Equality of the Provincial Council, Pilar Martín; the Territorial Health and Primary Care Service; the Social Care, Women and Equal Opportunities Area and the Social Inclusion Section of the Territorial Management of Social Services; the Red Cross; Accem; the Civil Protection Association and the General Delegation.
Tomorrow, February 24, marks two years since the beginning of the Ukrainian war. Since then, the Segovia National Police Station has processed 599 applications for temporary protection of Ukrainian refugees, 415 of adults and other minors. So far this year, there have been 15 managed requests.
Both the National Police and the Civil Guard have once again shown their total willingness to continue helping and collaborating with the collective of Ukrainians of the province in everything that is necessary.
Meanwhile, the Aliens Office of the Government Subdelegation processed eight files of Ukrainian citizens last year, for cases involving residence for study, temporary work, renewal of temporary residence for work with an extension of four years, for initial self-employment and for long-term residence.
At the coordination meeting, all participating institutions have offered to continue working and cooperating to provide all necessary assistance and assistance to Ukrainian refugees.
