February 22, 2024.- The Ministry of Interior, through the Secretary of State for Security, has given the green light to the award of the works to improve accessibility in the common areas of the National Police School of Ávila for an amount of 522,303.48 euros.
With an implementation period of three months, the project seeks to improve accessibility in different areas of the building of the auditorium-hall of the School. The auditorium is a unique space of the ENP built in 1986, capable of housing almost a thousand people, which will now be updated to be more accessible and have better auxiliary services.
To do this, ramps or platforms will be made as accessibility solutions for access to the auditorium (both stage and seating area), as well as the toilet (which will have to be reformed to be accessible).
The action also includes the improvement of the access to the main building and the adaptation of an area to be destined for administrative use.
A project that, according to the subdelegate of the Government in Ávila, Fernando Galeano, adds to the important investments that the Government of Spain is currently carrying out in the improvement of the facilities of the ENP, such as the double perimeter fence and the construction of two new residential modules that together exceed nine million euros.
“This action is framed in the commitment to improve the resources of the Corps, within our permanent commitment to strengthen the provision of service to citizens and improve security,” said Galeano.
