Joint Operation of the Civil Guard and National Police
February 21, 2024.- The delegate of the Government in Castilla y León, Nicanor Sen, accompanied by the subdelegates of Soria and Madrid, Miguel Latorre and Pilar Trinidad, and the lieutenant colonel head of the Civil Guard Command in Soria, Sergio Peñarroya, and the commissioner of the National Police Force in Torrejón de Ardoz, Juan Ignacio Parreño, presented on Wednesday in Soria a joint operation of Civil Guard and National Police, dedicated to There are a total of 18 people detained for alleged crimes against public health, membership of a criminal organization, money laundering and electric fluid fraud.
Seventeen entries and registers have been made in the provinces of Madrid and Guadalajara involving significant quantities of different narcotic substances, various weapons and tools for the preparation and processing of narcotic substances.
The operation began in March 2023 when the Civil Guard detained a man of Colombian origin in the Sorian town of Medinaceli while driving with a vehicle inside which he transported two kilograms of marijuana.
The investigators suspected that it could be a criminal organization made up of several people of different nationalities who would be engaging in drug trafficking.
At the same time, that same summer, the National Police had begun an investigation into this same person, since he could be distributing different narcotic substances in establishments in the town of Torrejón de Ardoz.
After the joint investigation carried out, it was possible to determine the existence of a criminal organization, dedicated to the indoor production of marijuana, as well as the preparation and distribution of various narcotic substances.
Dismantled five indoor marijuana plantations
On February 13, a joint device was established in which a total of 17 entries and records were carried out in the provinces of Madrid and Guadalajara. In these, more than 23 kilograms of methamphetamine have been intervened; two kilograms of cocaine; one and a half kilograms of ketamine; 22 kilograms of marijuana buds packaged and prepared for sale; another 700 grams of packaged marijuana; 2,500 marijuana plants, and different useful for the elaboration and distribution of these substances. In addition, two simulated small arms have been seized, one airsoft shotgun and one simulated shotgun and almost 11,000 euros in cash.
With this operation, it has managed to dismantle five indoor marijuana plantations in large chalets, where they were illegally hooked to the electric fluid. Several vehicles, computer devices, mobile phones and documentation of interest for the investigation have been intervened.
Finally, the operation has resulted in the arrest of 18 people who are charged with crimes of belonging to a criminal organization, against public health, money laundering and electric fluid fraud.
Following their transfer to the courts, seven of the detainees have been sentenced to prison and different precautionary measures have been agreed on the rest.
